About

FatBiking is one of the fastest growing segments of the cycling industry and with the extra wide tires (3.5-5 inches) four season cycling is now a reality. These wide tires and low pressures allow the bikes to float on a snow pack and make recreational riding a very enjoyable winter activity.

Saskatoon is home to Canada’s first known FatBike specific cycling club called FatLanders FatTire Brigade (www.fatlanders.bike).  There are many amazing winter riding options available right within the Saskatoon city limits or surrounding areas, from wide plowed paths and quiet gravel roads to tight snowshoe tracked trails through the trees along the riverbanks. FatBikes rentals are also available – call your local bike store for availability.

Our club was formed in 2014 to advocate and promote the emerging sport of FatBiking in Saskatoon and surrounding area.  We provide organizational structure to communicate FatBike specific needs and concerns to the Provincial Cycling Association.  We interact with the City of Saskatoon, Meewasin Valley Authority and other active lifestyles clubs to maintain and advance riding opportunities in our community.  We offer several organized weekly rides through the winter months along a number of special events such as a Global FatBike Day ride and a FatBike Festival weekend in conjunction with the Wintershines Festival in late January.

Come find out why everyone you see riding one of these bikes has a great bike smile on.
